[s]Small French restaurant, sounds nice, traditional / fancy / fine dining (and they can do vegetarian / vegan - I've popped in and had a word). Cosy. functional website, has menu and offers and things on it. They do not do vegetarian skate knobs though.[/s] Closed now :-(
I been here! See more in my gigography.
In the space left by the Monk's Kitchen.
Sunday, five pounds only for adults and 3.50 for under 12s, is that not a crazy super deal? Served from 12.

This restaurant may appear unprepossessing from the outside, but the food is absolutely excellent and I can thoroughly recommend this venue to others.

A contributor to the forum posted about a disappointing anniversary meal they'd had at a local restaurant in January. And The Hermitage have chipped in, this story obviously tugged their heart strings like it did mine, but they've actually put their hand in their pocket and are offering the couple in question a free meal!

I got the impression it was a big "bring your own", I'm not sure where from...
I have now been to this restaurant 3 times. The food is cooked but all of it is really smoothered in a sauce of one kind or another. One of my friends that was with me the other day commented that when they cook Sardines in France they just grill them, they don't put sauce all over them. The Chef replied well i like sauces.
They have just won the KM award for good food 2006 for South and East Kent - whatever that means!
The above name no longer exists, and has been changed into The Hermitage French restaurant & coffee house
Nice to see some refreshing reviews of Folkestone restaurants. Can I please point you the way of the Hermitage. It's where the Monks Kitchen used to be and I can honestly say that it's food it without par. I can recomend the duck. It was delish!
A guide to eating and drinking in Folkestone, Sandgate, Hythe, and the surrounding area... Do you remember when this was the top ranking result for Folkestone Restaurants? All independent, unfortunately unpaid, never spiteful...
