Next stop on our trying some new pubs night out, The Duke Of Cumberland in Barham. Again a bit further afield than we would normally travel, but we'll definitely be going back to this one in the daytime, as they have a GREAT kids play area. The pub itself was nice, though seemed warmer and friendlier in the dining area than in the bar where we sat. Looking forward to taking the boy back here for an afternoon of him climbing crazy on the play area while I try one of the real ales.
There is a connection with The Jackdaw in Denton, for more info see dukeofcumberland.co.uk.
This is my website The Folkestone Gerald that I built in a fury of excitement when we first came to Folkestone in approximately 2004. I'd been a frequent visitor for a few years previous to that but I am technically one of those Down From Londons you get now. The site was updated more frequently with a gig calendar and voting for best venues and stuff, and I know it was a handy reference for others who were moving here. Now I've moved out of Folkestone again (though only a couple of miles) it doesn't get as much attention as it used to. Ironic really as The town is now becoming the exciting place we knew it was about to become. My name is not Gerald BTW, this comes from a pretend newspaper in an episode of Brasseye or something, the Portsmouth Gerald, and how there is a local newspaper here called the Folkestone Herald. Puns like this are GRATE aren't they? Do contact me if you have something to contribute, email anythign @ this domain, or try @folkestone or @pauly on the twitter.
