I am a PROFESSIONAL solo singer guitarist and was booked MONTHS back to play at the Neptune Inn on 31st July 08. I phoned today to confirm and the guy there was stroppy and rude, saying I would not go down there as they never have solos. I offered a duo act (with a fellow muso) but he offrerd me silly money. As far as I am concerned, whoever he was, he is rude and un-business like, and gives the venue a bad image. I wouldn't play there now if they offered me 500!!
This is my website The Folkestone Gerald that I built in a fury of excitement when I first came here sometime in 2004. I'd been a frequent visitor for a while before that but I am technically one of those Down From Londons you get nowadays. The site was updated more frequently with a gig calendar and voting for favourite venues and stuff, and I know it was a useful reference for those who were moving here. Now I've moved out of Folkestone again (though just to Hythe) it doesn't get as much attention as it used to. Ironic really as The town is now becoming the exciting place we knew it was just about to. My name is not Gerald BTW, this comes from a fake newspaper in an episode of Brasseye or something, the Portsmouth Gerald, and how there is a local paper here called the Folkestone Herald.
