I been here! See more in my gigography.
Visited Little Switzerland as we were told there was a fantastic view.We were not disappointed.Wasn't staying at the camping and caravanning site but if ever I needed that facility it would be the ideal location, beautiful views, clean and quiet. It has the added bonus of a very nice cafe/bar with seating looking out over the English Channel and you can even see France. The owners and their staff are very welcoming and friendly. There is a good selection of food which was very reasonable and served quickly. Alot of people were just having tea and cakes which also looked very good. I would highly recommend a visit here to eat and take in the view, even if you are not camping. Jacqui and Mickey Carolan (London)
Pulling the invasive Alien - Japanese Knotweed from several areas in Folkestone Warren. Meet 10.15 at the Little Switzerland Cafe, off Wear Bay Road, Folkestone.PLEASE BRING REFRESHMENTS.
To all concerned with Knotweed Pulling - be very careful. You may well increase the spread of the plant by pulling it out of the ground. It is not a recognised method of control. Not wanting to dampen the enthusiasm of the local community, but trust me when I say BE CAREFUL!! There are much more effective methods of control and if pulling is to be done it would need to be done for a number of years (10+) to be effective. There are also legal issues regarding the transportation and disposal of Japanese Knotweed as it is classed as a Controlled Waste and subjected to the Waste Carrying License etc etc. For further information please visit www.t-c-m-rd.co.uk or other sites such as the Cornwall Knotweed Forum web site. Many thanks Philip Rusted
A guide to eating and drinking in Folkestone, Sandgate, Hythe, and the surrounding area... Do you remember when this was the top ranking result for Folkestone Restaurants? All independent, unfortunately unpaid, never spiteful...
