That's who it is with now. Here is the town planning act, in case that is of any interest:
Secretary of State's powers concerning plans
Direction to reconsider proposals.
17.(1) After a copy of a unitary development plan has been sent to the Secretary of State under section 13(3) and before it is adopted by the local planning authority, the Secretary of State may, if it appears to him that the plan is unsatisfactory, direct the authority to consider modifying the proposals in such respects as are indicated in the direction. (2) An authority to whom a direction is given shall not adopt the plan unless they satisfy the Secretary of State that they have made the modifications necessary to conform with the direction or the direction is withdrawn.

This is my site The FG that I built in a fury of excitement when we first moved to Folkestone sometime in 2004. I'd been a frequent visitor for a few years previous to that but I am technically one of those Down From Londons you get now. The site was updated more frequently with a gig calendar and voting for favourite venues and things, and I hear it was a useful reference for those who were moving to the area. Now I've moved out of Folkestone again (though only a couple of miles) it doesn't get as much attention as it used to. Ironic really as The town is becoming the exciting place we always thought it was just about to. My name is not Gerald by the way, this comes from a fake paper in an episode of The Day Today or something, the Portsmouth Gerald, and how there is a local newspaper here called the Folkestone Herald. Puns like this are great aren't they? Do contact me if you have anything to contribute, email anythign @ this domain, or try @folkestone or @pauly on the twitter.
