Woo, we're in The Times today:
After a long period of static or falling prices, property prices are up by just under 3 per cent since the start of this year a modest rise perhaps, but a stronger rise than in other South Coast resorts such as Ramsgate and Hastings, according to the property data company Hometrack. Now Folkestone is fizzing like a bottle of pop and no mistake.
This is my website The 'Gerald that I built in a fury of enthusiasm when I first came to Folkestone sometime in '04. I'd been a frequent visitor for a while before that but I am technically one of those DFLs you get nowadays. The site was a lot more dynamic with a gig calendar and voting for favourite places and things, and I know it was a useful resource for those who were moving to the area. Now I've moved out of Folkestone again (though only to Hythe) it doesn't get as much love as it used to. Ironic really as The town is now becoming the exciting place we always thought it was just about to. My name is not Gerald by the way, the name comes from a pretend newspaper in an episode of The Day Today or something, the Portsmouth Gerald, and how there is a local paper here called the Folkestone Herald. Puns like this are great aren't they? Do get in touch if you have something to offer, email anythign @ this domain, or try @folkestone or @pauly on Twitter.
