mrgig.com, they both seem to be mostly pub bands to me though. I would give whoever promotes the bands at Lanterns (that used to promote at Stripes), that seems to be more the style of music, and they don't seem to bother with the other local band sites. Also, The Harp Club could be a goer.
onfolkestone.co.uk seems to have more of the young metal crowd gigs listed, hopefully this site will have the best listings of all.
This is my site The FG that I built in a fury of excitement when I first came here in approximately '04. I'd been a frequent visitor for a few years previous to that so I am technically one of those Down From Londons you get now. The site used to be a lot more dynamic with a calendar of events and voting for favourite places and things, and I know it was a useful reference for others who were thinking of moving here. Now I've moved out of Folkestone again (though only to Hythe) it doesn't get as much attention as it used to. Ironic really as The town is becoming the exciting place we always thought it was about to become. I am not Gerald by the way, this comes from a pretend newspaper in an episode of The Day Today or something, the Portsmouth Gerald, and how there is a local paper here called the Folkestone Herald. Puns like this are great aren't they? Do contact me if you have anything to contribute, email anythign @ this domain, or try @folkestone or @pauly on Twitter.
