BBC has this nasty story, about someone stabbing their boss because they couldn't have they day off... it was in Hull, but then he fleed to Folkestone.
Saman Sali Karim, 26, of Melville Street in the city admitted killing Mark Conway, 28, at Land Food Products in Copenhagen Road (in Hull) on 12 August.
Hull Crown Court heard Karim had been "in a strop" as he had not been allowed to have the day off.
After the attack, he escaped to a flat in Folkestone, Kent, but was later arrested by armed police.
This is part of my website The FG that I built in a fury of excitement when I first moved to Folkestone in approximately 2004. I'd been a frequent visitor for a few years before that so I am technically one of those Down From Londons you get now. The site was updated more frequently with a gig calendar and voting for favourite venues and things, and I hear it was a useful reference for others who were moving to the area. Now I've moved out of Folkestone again (though only a couple of miles) it doesn't get as much attention as it used to. Ironic really as The town is now becoming the exciting place we always thought it was about to become. My name is not Gerald BTW, this comes from a pretend newspaper in an episode of Brasseye or something, the Portsmouth Gerald, and how there is a local paper here called the Folkestone Herald. Puns like this are GRATE aren't they? Do get in touch if you have something to offer, email anythign @ this domain, or try @folkestone or @pauly on the twitter.
