Good to see Folkestone not only feature on Channel 4's Relocation, Relocation last night, but also being the outright winner! What a great house. Shame they didn't have time to give as much blurb about Folkestone as they did about Deal and Ramsgate. Also a shame the guy's not commuting into London. I commute into London, it's not that bad!
The winning property was a five bed Victorian townhouse, on with Fell Reynolds for 595k, which they got for 518k! Not bad! Can't find it online, but it was called the "Manor House" somewhere, so guessing it's on Manor Road...

This is part of my site The 'Gerald that I built in a fury of enthusiasm when we first moved here sometime in 2004. I'd been a frequent visitor for a while before that so I am technically one of those Down From Londons you get nowadays. The site was a lot more dynamic with a gig calendar and voting for favourite places and stuff, and I know it was a handy resource for those who were moving to the area. Now I've moved out of Folkestone again (though just to Hythe) it doesn't get as much love as it used to. Ironic really as The town is now becoming the exciting place we always thought it was about to become. My name is not Gerald by the way, this comes from the name of a pretend newspaper in an episode of Brasseye or something, the Portsmouth Gerald, and how there is a local newspaper here called the Folkestone Herald. Puns like this are great aren't they? Do get in touch if you have something to contribute, email anythign @ this domain, or try @folkestone or @pauly on the twitter.
