Went to Lathe Barn for a birthday party on Saturday lunchtime and took the opportunity to call in to Botolphs Bridge Inn on the way back. Pub: nice, courtyard garden: nice, cider: nice, real ale: nice, other punters: nice, but most of all staff: VERY NICE!
I wanted a beer, the boy wanted an ice cream, I hoped we could combine the two here. The kitchen was closed but one of the staff brought out some ice creams that they had personally for us to choose one. This was so nice and much appreciated!
This is my website The FG that I built in a fury of excitement when we first came to Folkestone in approximately 2004. I'd been a frequent visitor for a few years before that but I am technically one of those DFLs you get nowadays. The site was updated more frequently with a gig calendar and voting for favourite venues and things, and I hear it was a useful reference for those who were thinking of moving here. Now I've moved out of Folkestone again (though only a couple of miles) it doesn't get as much attention as it used to. Ironic really as The town is becoming the exciting place we always thought it was just about to. My name is not Gerald BTW, this comes from a fake newspaper in an episode of The Day Today or something, the Portsmouth Gerald, and how there is a local newspaper here called the Folkestone Herald. Puns like this are great aren't they? Do get in touch if you have anything to contribute, email anythign @ this domain, or try @folkestone or @pauly on Twitter.
