After eating probably the worst Christmas office lunch of my life at the Tavernetta the year before last (equivalent of a 1 Iceland frozen dinner) I finally decided to give the place another try. I definately will not be going there again. The food really is quite poor. For fish to be that spongy, watery and tasteles it just had to be frozen - which I dont expect as it was not a cheap main course.. The bread basket was a couple of supermarket type rolls and some toast, and generally it all was tired and a fairly poor standard. Not sure why others say this is a good place. Not in my experience.
This is part of my website The FG that I built in a fury of excitement when I first came here sometime in 2004. I'd been a frequent visitor for a while previous to that so I am technically one of those DFLs you get nowadays. The site was a lot more dynamic with a gig calendar and voting for favourite venues and things, and I know it was a useful reference for others who were thinking of moving here. Now I've moved out of Folkestone again (though only to Hythe) it doesn't get as much attention as it used to. Ironic really as The town is becoming the exciting place we knew it was about to become. I am not Gerald by the way, this comes from a pretend newspaper in an episode of The Day Today or something, the Portsmouth Gerald, and how there is a local newspaper here called the Folkestone Herald. Puns like this are great aren't they? Do get in touch if you have anything to contribute, email anythign @ this domain, or try @folkestone or @pauly on the twitter.
