New dates for our charity boot fairs in Folkestone for 2008 have just been announced, with the next boot fair being held on Saturday 3rd May.
Due to a potential change in use of the Shorncliffe Road field, it was initially thought that we would not be able to hold any boot fairs this year. But the owners of the field have now allowed us to hold fairs until the end of July 2008. The full dates are therefore:

All fairs start at 7.00am and any changes to these dates will be posted on our website, westbrookparents.org.

This is part of my website The Folkestone Gerald that I built in a fury of enthusiasm when we first moved here sometime in 2004. I'd been a frequent visitor for a while previous to that so I am technically one of those DFLs you get nowadays. The site was a lot more dynamic with a gig calendar and voting for favourite places and stuff, and I know it was a useful resource for those who were moving here. Now I've moved out of Folkestone again (though just a couple of miles) it doesn't get as much love as it used to. Ironic really as The town is now becoming the exciting place we knew it was about to become. I am not Gerald BTW, the name comes from a pretend newspaper in an episode of The Day Today or something, the Portsmouth Gerald, and how there is a local paper here called the Folkestone Herald.
