And every two weeks after that, message from Tony King
Hi Everyone!!
I am now running the Open Mic Night at the Whole World Cafe, the Old High St, Folkestone. This is a lovely venue which specialises in Ethical, Homemade Wholefood. The surroundings are colourful with a gallery of work from local artists adorning the walls.
It's this Friday 8th Feb and will be every 2 weeks. I will do a mail out for each one.
The Whole World Cafe is a child friendly venue.
They serve a range of coffes, teas and food and also has an alcohol licence. THERE IS A FREE DRINK FOR EVERY PERFORMER.
It will be an entertaining evening for all concerned whether performing or not. There is some great talent out there.
A full PA with feedback monitor will be set up. There are 2 mics available.
Bring your friends.
This is part of my website The 'Gerald that I built in a fury of excitement when I first moved here in approximately 2004. I'd been a frequent visitor for a few years before that but I am technically one of those Down From Londons you get now. The site was updated more frequently with a gig calendar and voting for favourite places and things, and I hear it was a useful resource for those who were thinking of moving to the area. Now I've moved out of Folkestone again (though just to Hythe) it doesn't get as much attention as it used to. Ironic really as The town is now becoming the exciting place we always thought it was just about to. My name is not Gerald BTW, the name comes from a pretend paper in an episode of The Day Today or something, the Portsmouth Gerald, and how there is a local paper here called the Folkestone Herald. Puns like this are GRATE aren't they? Do get in touch if you have something to contribute, email anythign @ this domain, or try @folkestone or @pauly on Twitter.
